A few members have asked for help navigating the forum. The most common problems seem to involve navigating the different topics and threads.
When you visit the forum, go to http://forum.nymstf.org/. That's the main page; bookmark/favorite it in your web browser (CTRL D). When you're logged in, you'll see this:
That's 5 separate forums for different topics. If you see two more forums below that, then you're a real-live voting member of the TF and have access to the administrative business of the NYMSTF.
We have 5 forums to keep things organized; we don't want the topics getting tangled and information buried. There's a little description of what each forum is for, so I posted this under "Riders' Talk" because that's the general chitchat forum.
When you click on Riders' Talk, you'll see the list of topics (threads):
They're listed most-recent-post-first, so the active topics are right up top where you can see them. Old stuff gets pushed to the bottom.
Inside topics, the posts go from oldest to newest, like this:
Also, if you visit the forum a lot and don't want to reread the same posts over and over, you can navigate right to the most recent post in a topic. Just click the teeny-tiny icon of a page&arrow next to the author's name:
Finally, this forum isn't so big or unwieldy that the admins can't maintain it. So don't be afraid to post wherever (and whatever) you like; if it's way off-topic we'll move it for you and let you know!
And if anyone has any other questions about using the forum... just ask here!
