Best app for alerts?

Postby adelie » Tue Sep 18, 2012 1:38 pm

I have an Android phone that I mount to my ride so I can see traffic on google maps. What I would like to know, is do any of you who are subscribed to both the RSS and/or the twitter feed get any alert popups?

I found that the generic twitter client and RSS do not do a great job of alerting and I was looking for something that could pop up in big letters alerting to a checkpoint. I didn't even know about the 9/16 FDR checkpoint until 3 days later. Luckily I had no reason to go to NYC on Sunday.

What app would you recommend?

If you set up Twitter so it texts you when there is an alert (instructions given on our web page), that should show up prominently on your phone as would any other text message.
